| This is an amazingly fine example of the 6-1/4 x 9 inch, 128 page very heavily illustrated book SS GERMANISCHE REIHE (SS Germanic Series) number 19 as published by the Reichsführer-SS, SS Hauptamt-DIII in Berlin, Germany in 1944. |

| This very, very rare book presents photographs and descriptions of America often contrasted with similar material from Germany intended to illustrate the degenerate, corrupt, idiotic, money grubbing, mixed-race, hellhole society to be found in America. The book was printed and distributed specifically to SS personnel in Hitler’s Germany, very near the end of World War II. |

| The book shows American labor, culture, music, politicians, scenery, pastimes, advertising, family, religion, highway signs, cities, movies, race mixing, and other matters in the worst possible light. The country is described in the most anti-Semitic manner as paradise for Jews, women and mixed race black people. |

| While the text of the book is written entirely in German, there is an attempt by the authors to translate Americanisms such as “I don’t know what to do with myself”, “God’s own country”, “Man in the street”, “Ballyhoo”, “To get an eye full of you”, “Shimmy”, “Swing”, “Monkey-glide”, “Turkey Trot”, “Universal sex appeal (USA)”, “Sex mad”, “You can’t convict a million dollars”, “Hope in every jar”, “OK Boss”, “Happiness in every box”, “Prosperity”, “High pressure salesman”, “the Melting pot”, etc., etc., etc. |

| One of the most amazing aspects of this book is that we purchased it in Germany in the fall of 2005, 61 years after it was published. The country described as America in this book is exactly what Germany looks like today!
Very few examples of this book could have possibly survived the Allied de-Nazification process in Germany! We have never seen another and we have never heard or seen the book referred to in any other book on the SS or World War II in general.
The book has never been read and is in brand-new condition. Probably the reason it survived at all!
