GERMAN PRESS OFFICE WIEN
This 2nd style Nazi Arbeitsbuch once belonged to Elfriede Kaltofen (née Preihs) born 20 November 1909 in Wien. She was married and had one child in 1940 when this Arbeitsbuch number 386/474692 was issued on 30 July 1940 at Arbeitsamt number 12 in Wien. She worked in the Radio Section of the German Press Office in Wien, the second largest city in Adolf Hitler's Greater Germany.

Interestingly, this Nazi Employment Record was closed on 26 February 1941, and re-opened AFTER THE WAR. On 23 November 1946 Elfriede Kaltofen started work for the family trading company in Wien as the office manager. This Nazi Arbeitsbuch was never officially closed.

Comes with the tan Ausweis shown left, which states family member, Julius Preihs was awarded the War Remembrance Medal in February 1935.

Deutsche Reichsbahn
ARBEITSBUCH DEUTSCHE REICHSBAHN EMPLOYEE
Nazi Arbeitsbuch Julius Löffler
This Third Reich Arbeitsbuch belonged to Julius Löffler, born on 21 May 1914 in Wien (Vienna). It was issued at Vienna Labor Office 386 on 29 June 1939 when he was single. While using this Nazi Labor Record he married (18 July 1939), had a child (1943) and moved twice.

Julius Löffler worked as a machinist, first as an apprentice and then for miscellaneous campanies, including a locomotive factory. When this Arbeitsbuch was issued in 1939 he worked for the Deutsche Reichsbahn (German State Railways) in Wien-West, where he stayed until 31 May 1943. From 1 June 1943 until 31 March 1944 he had a job working at the Hütteldorf-Hacking railway station on the west side of Vienna. We suspect that since his Arbeitsbuch was officially closed on 24 April 1944, 30 year old Julius Löffler was drafted in the Wehrmacht.

A VARIETY OF NAZI ARBEITSBÜCHER
(PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT RECORD BOOKS)
FROM VARIOUS THIRD REICH GERMAN
INDUSTRIES, GOVERNMENT BUREAUS, ETC.

Third Reich Arbeitsbücher (Employment Record Books) are by themselves among the commonest Nazi identity documents of the Hitler era in Germany. Collectors have found however, that those Arbeitsbücher associated with famous or notorious people or employers are highly desirable. What better compliment can there be to a magnificent Mauser rifle or Walther pistol than the Arbeitsbuch of one the craftsman that built the weapon? For a historian or collector involved with antique or classic cars from the period, there is no accessory more desirable or more historic than the Arbeitsbuch of one of the workers in the factory that built the machine.

The selection below includes Arbeitsbücher from a variety of individuals employed in Third Reich companies. Each entry contains basic data and a price delivered to any address in the United States. If you have other questions about any of the ID books, please inquire.
