This is a very nice 144-page, 9 x 11 inch hardcover, very heavily illustrated example of the Eric Borchert Nazi combat photography book Entscheidende Stunden - mit der Kamera am Feind (Decisive Hours - With The Camera and the Enemy) as published by Wilhelm Limpert Verlag in Berlin in 1941. This is among the very best combat photo collections published during the Third Reich because of its large size, the number and clarity of its excellent photos and the early use of color film in combat.
Borchert's up-close photos cover all types of action, from rubber boat assault troops to PAK crews, tank commanders and observation balloons to armor.
Following a short 30-page text in German, there are 90 full-page black & white combat photos and 24 full-page, full-color combat photos all by PK (Propagandakompanie) combat photographer Borchert, all with simple, straightforward captions. Borchert was on the ground with the Nazi troops in Poland in 1939, at the Westwall during the winter of 1939/40, fighting the British in Norway, during the invasion of Belgium, Holland and France in May 1940, the chaos and Dunkirk, surrender at Compiègne - all entscheidende Stunden, decisive hours!

This glossy page, gray linen hardcover German World War II combat photo book is in nice used condition with the name of the original owner and the date 9 April 1942 written in ink on the front flyleaf. The original color dust jacket shows wear and has scotch tape along the top and bottom edges. The 2+ pound, 83 year old book is complete and has no odor.
Outstanding for the amazing close-ups of Wehrmacht Generals, troops, equipment, weapons, vehicles, tanks, prisoners, debris of battle, etc.
