This is a nice example of the 3-3/4 x 5-5/8 inch heavily illustrated 300+ page hard cover 1943 Deutscher Luftwaffenkalender, a pocket sized informational calendar or handbook published by J.M. Reindl Verlag in Bamberg with the approval of the Nazi Air Ministry. This is the third Third Reich wartime Air Force calendar which starts with a patriotic introduction by the publisher and a Preface by Generalfeldmarschall and Generalinspektor Erhard Milch. This is followed by a list of all the members of die Reichsregierung or the State Government (Hitler, Göring, Ribbentrop, Goebbels, Frick, Funk, Rust, Dorpmüller, Ohnesorge, Frank, Lammers, Speer, Rosenberg, etc.) and a brief overview of the first three years of World War II, including the war in the Soviet Union.

The 52 page daily calendar portion of this book is supplemented by photos of members of different sections of the Wehrmacht in action, and all sorts of information on flight equipment, weapons, Luftwaffe ranks, important German dates / holidays, aircraft profiles, how to read a map, how to pitch a tent, Luftwaffe members who were recipients of the Knights Cross, and advertising related to aviation.

These heavily illustrated Luftwaffe handbooks are very useful research tools when dealing with any subject related to the Nazi Air Force during the Third Reich. This 70 year old example has no handwritten entries and is in tight, very good condition.
