München or Munich was named the Hauptstadt der Bewegung or the Capital of the Nazi Movement by Adolf Hitler himself. He loved the city and lived there both before and after the First World War. During the ascent of the Nazi Party Hitler and the Nazis began to acquire property and make plans for the eventual reconstruction of the small city at the foot of the Alps.
This large 8-1/2 x 11-1/2 inch, 200 page very, very heavily illustrated hard cover book München baut auf was published in 1937 by the Nazi Reichsleiter and Mayor of Munich, Karl Fiehler (shown right). It was printed at the Central Publishing House of the NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachfolger GmbH of München.

Following a full-page picture of the bronze bust of the Führer by Ferdinand Liebermann, the book dramatically depicts the enormous effort that went into the Nazi reconstruction of the city between 1933 and 1936. There are pictures of significant National Socialist sites from the Feldherrnhalle to the Königsplatz (shown right).
This superb Third Reich photo book contains photos of the administrative offices of the NSDAP, the Eternal Watch which held the bodies of the martyrs of the Nazi Putsch, the new Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) building on Tegernseerlandstrasse, the headquarters of the Reichsautozug "Deutschland", the House of German Art, the Luftwaffe Command building, the SS Kaserne, the SS Main Riding School, the Deutsches Museum, the Reichsautobahn, the memorial at the Feldherrnhalle, many bridges, cemeteries, churches, schools, fire departments, neighborhoods (Siedlungen), offices for the Völkischer Beobachter, hotels, apartment buildings, parks, monuments, theaters, the horse race track at Riem (shown left), etc., etc.
