The bold graphics and dramatic subjects of most German prints and posters from the 1930s and 1940s make them highly collectible and, except for their size, perfect accompaniments to other material from the period. The biggest problem with original German posters of the Third Reich period is that they were made in a very large size to be pasted on walls and kiosks where they would be viewed at considerable distance. The large size makes them inconvenient for display with modern collections or in most museums and libraries. Another problem with original Third Reich posters is that almost all the originals that survived are weather-beaten or were folded several times for storage. The inexpensive, fine quality reproductions of Third Reich posters that we offer here were carefully scanned from originals in our archive, all the folds were removed and the colors were brought back to their original vibrance. They are professionally printed on non-yellowing coated paper stock so that they may be laminated, pasted down or framed for display. Each is 11 inches wide and the height of each varies according to the original. |
