SS uniform
A SET OF SEVEN BIG HEAVILY ILLUSTRATED THIRD REICH
BOOKS CONTAINING DOZENS OF PATTERNS FOR AND
COPIOUS OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT NAZI UNIFORMS
FROM 1939 THROUGH 1942
Panzertruppen Nazi tailor magazines
Would you like to know exactly how to make and install the collar on a Waffen-SS officer’s tunic? Do you need a pattern for the NSDAP Political Leader Service Overcoat model of 1939, or a pattern for the White Service Jacket for a SS-Führer? Look no further!

This amazing set of seven matching hardbound books appear to contain all the issues of a publication called ,,RUNDSCHAU - Deutsches Schneiderfachblatt für das Gesamte Schneidergewerbe’’ (PANORAMA - the German Professional Publication for the Entire Tailoring Trade) from 29 April 1939 through 19 December 1942.

Nazi dagger
Nazi swords Eickhorn
Each issue measures about 8-3/4 x 11-1/2 inches and contains from around 20 - 36 very heavily illustrated pages of patterns, accessories, manufacturing hints and techniques, bulletins from the Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM or National Materials Master of the Nazi Party), display ads, classified advertising, etc., of interest to tailors and clothing manufacturers throughout the Grossdeutschland of Adolf Hitler.
SS Dienstrock
Naturally, because a great deal of the tailoring and clothing manufacturing that was done in Nazi Germany in the very late 1930s and early 1940s involved uniforms, that was the hot topic in the biggest German trade journal.

Lengthy, heavily illustrated articles cover subjects like “The Field Blouse (Wehrmacht uniform jacket) from Cutting to Finished Garment” and the “Unified Dark Blue and Field Gray Uniforms for Government Officials.”

The latter article uses pictures of the brocade belt and buckle, visor cap eagle and swastika, Eickhorn dagger, shoulder braid, sleeve insigne, buttons and other items to be used on a diplomat’s uniform.
Nazi uniform caps
There are pictures of uniforms, patterns of uniforms, collar - sleeve - shoulder insigne and / or other detailed information on World War II German uniforms for military and paramilitary organizations such as Hitler Youth Leaders, the SS, the SA, military Chaplains, Forestry Officials, Kriegsmarine Officers and Men, Justice Robes, Reichspost, Luftwaffe, Heer, Police, Reichsbahn, Nazi Red Cross, NSKK, Panzer Troops, RLB, TeNo, etc.
Photo feature articles include things like a tour of the RZM uniform department, a prize winning uniform window display, the army uniform depots, etc. Official government announcements include those about SS collar tabs, the new uniform for the Grossdeutschland Regiment, the new SA uniform material color, Reichs Master Pattern Maker, wearing of orders and medals, the proper hanger for a hunting dagger, insigne for the Grossdeutschland Infantry Regiment, SS runes on the uniforms of the Order Police, police insignia, etc., etc.
There are articles on adjusting patterns for stocky figures and figures with large stomachs, riding pants of all sorts, making capes for uniforms, insignia for the staff of the Reichsprotector of Bohemia and Moravia, etc., etc. Of course, each issue of Rundschau also contains trade advertising for things that go along with military and paramilitary uniforms. Things like visor caps, swords, daggers, buttons, insignia, medals, shoulder boards, collar tabs, flags, tress, swallows nests and of course, the cloth that Nazi uniforms are made of. SS collar tabs SS uniform
Nazi overcoat
The instructions for assembling uniforms are complete with details about things such as the outer material, the garment lining, pockets, insigne, buttons, button colors and sizes, collar tabs and shoulder boards, etc., etc.
Luftwaffe uniform
Naturally, tailors and tailoring factories also made civilian clothing, and these seven books include pictures and details of all the latest Third Reich fashions and patterns for how to make them. Certainly they would be fascinating to some, but the real value in these books is in the enormous amount of minutia and valuable patterns for German Third Reich military and paramilitary uniforms of all kinds.
Nazi uniform window display
This set of books consists of seven matching hardbound volumes, each measuring about 9 x 11-3/4 inches with a total thickness of approximately 7-1/2 inches. The seven books contain perhaps 4500 pages and many hundreds of photos an illustrations of Nazi WW2 era uniforms.

The text, while written entirely in German, will yield many, many fascinating details about those uniforms to anyone diligent enough to read them. These volumes would be a perfect reference for someone writing a genuinely well-researched book on any aspect of this subject (there are already plenty of badly researched books in print).

The condition of the seven books is generally very good and they are apparently complete, but bear in mind they are used books. They were once owned by someone who used them, so there are pencil annotations here and there. Even Hitler’s birthday picture has a penciled X through it. Some of the 4500 or so pages have been wet, some have corners torn off and a few are repaired or dirty. Three of the books appear to be in very, very good condition. All in all, 99+% of the uniform material that was originally included in these books IS STILL THERE. They are a unique treasure for the right person.
These bound Nazi tailor magazines are **SOLD**.
