The promotion document with the 4 inch wide gold colored Nazi eagle and swastika at the top (shown left) was issued in Bremen on 14 July 1944 and promoted Heinz Gast to Special Postal Inspector. This promotion has the grey-blue ink signature of a man named Propping, the representative of the Reichspostminister. The approximately 2 inch eagle and swastika seal of the President der Reichspostdirektion Bremen to the left of the Propping signature, is perfectly embossed but may be hard to see in the small photo of the document.

The text of the documents under Gast's name says that he was expected to fulfill the duties of his profession honorably and diligently, and in return Deutsche Reichspost employee Heinz Albert Gast was promised the protection of the Führer.

Promotional documents like these were very meaningful and carefully saved by the recipients and their families. There are some slight blue discoloration flecks on the right edge of the 1940 promotion document and it also has a small piece of tape on the back. The striking 1944 Reichspost promotion document with the gold NS-Hoheitzeichen at the top has punch holes from being filed. Nice condition exactly as shown.

The earliest promotion document (shown left) is dated 12 March 1940 and promoted Gast to Postinspektoranwärter or Postal Inspector Candidate. It was issued in Berlin in name of the Reichspostminister and has a genuine blue ink signature of his representative. There is an embossed 2 inch round eagle and swastika seal of the President der Reichspostdirektion Berlin to the left of the signature that may be hard to see in our small photo of the document.

These two original 10 x 14 inch cream colored official Third Reich government promotion documents were awarded "In the Name of the Führer” to Heinz Albert Gast by the Reichspostdirektion.
