This example of Die Neue Reichskanzlei with the 3-1/8 inch Reichschancellery eagle on the front cover, is printed on excellent quality paper.  The title page (shown above from a previous edition we sold) was removed, so we do not know if this is a first, second, third or fourth edition.

Reichskanzlei Ehrenhof Berlin
Hitler's office in the Berlin Reichschancellery
This is the best overview of any ever made of the New Reichschancellery that architect Albert Speer designed and built in Berlin in 1938. The only principal tenant the building ever had during its short 75 month life was Germany's 23rd Chancellor, Adolf Hitler.

In text and photographs this book begins with the political concept and need for a new German Reichschancellery, as well as the long term plan for Hitler's Berlin. It carries on through the design and construction that provided for the offices, the housing for administrators, office staff, and the SS staff required on-site.

Photographs cover the building, its features and its contents in the smallest detail, from the Honor Courtyard through the Mosaic Hall, and the Marble Gallery to Adolf Hitler's Office. The imagery barely disguised in the threatening inlays on Hitler's desk is shown and explained in detail.

There are full-color pages showing all the important rooms as well as the exterior. There are countless photos of the special architectural work done by Arno Breker, Hermann Giesler, Kurt Schmid-Ehmen, Josef Thorak and others.

This Third Reich example of Die Neue Reichskanzlei is complete with the huge (over 3 feet long!) original fold-out architectural drawing of the Reichschancellery (shown above) in the back of this old Nazi book. The 16 other pages of architectural drawings at the back of the book are also in very fine condition.

The colorful dust jacket shown left on this USMBOOKS web page is a professional laser copy of a 1939 original. We will supply it to the buyer at no addtional cost.

This 85 year old book is in very nice used condition and has no odor. While the dark blue linen cover has faded and shows wear, and the gold lettering on the front cover has flaked off, the internal pages are in very nice condition as is the fold-out.

DIE NEUE
REICHSKANZLEI
THE NEW REICHSCHANCELLERY

This is a 100% original 1939 dark blue linen example of the magnificent oversized hardcover book on the New Reichschancellery built by Professor Albert Speer for Germany's 23rd Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, in Berlin in 1938.

The very heavily illustrated hardbound book measures 11-3/8 x 14-1/2 inches, has over 130 pages including many views and sections of the enormous building, some as large as 14 x 36 inches!

Die Neue Reichskanzlei (The New Reichschancellery) was printed in 1939 by the Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party, Franz Eher Nachfolger in Munich, Germany.   It was intended to be the enduring testament to the building itself and to the genius of the architect, Albert Speer.
Hitler's New German State Chancellery in Berlin was huge in scale and grand in concept and excecution. It was a full city block long with three floors above ground in some places and it had many bunkers beneath it. It was never intended to be the architectural focal point of Hitler's new Berlin, but rather a temporary seat adequate to the power and position of Germany's Führer, the most powerful secular leader in Europe.

Also for sale on USMBOOKS.com, original Reichschancellery postcards as well as other rare Nazi era architecture books and magazines. We are happy to combine shipping of multiple purchases!
